  • Telephonics Showcases its Family of Integrated Surveillance Systems at the 2014 Border Security Expo

Press Releases on March 17, 2014

  • Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE: GFF), announced today the presentation of its family of Integrated Surveillance Systems (ISS) at Border Security Expo in Phoenix, Arizona, March 18th and 19th. The family of advanced surveillance systems includes fixed, mobile, and man-portable configurations that provide small target detection and tracking, target classification and identification, and numerous agent safety features as they monitor diverse borders, critical infrastructures, exclusive economic zones, and other applications.

Every configuration of the ISS suite has been user-tested globally. The systems can be deployed as standalone, turnkey system solutions or can be easily integrated with pre-existing ground-control shelters and/or surveillance towers using Telephonics’ ThreatSTALKER® Command and Control (C2) software. The systems are extremely robust as well as reliable, and provide the ISS operator flexibility when conducting his or her mission with a complete, continuous and common operating picture of the surveillance area.

The ISS family is made up of Telephonics’ RaVEN®-Mobile, Portable, and Fixed Tower surveillance systems, all of which include an advanced radar surveillance system configurable for ground and maritime operations, and an advanced foliage penetration system capable of detecting targets through dense foliage and vegetation. Telephonics’ ISS family also offers plug and play sensors that enable deployment either independently or as a networked solution. The scalability and ruggedness of the suite supports a wide range of operations across varied environmental terrains. “We are extremely pleased to showcase our family of surveillance technologies that enhance the end user’s ability to monitor and protect critical areas of interest,” said Mr. Mel French, Corporate Vice President, Business Development and Strategic Planning for Telephonics Corporation. “The ISS suite was created with the global security marketplace in mind, and provides multiple surveillance options so that interdictions can be coordinated based on each individual threat.”

RaVEN-Mobile was named the 2013 Platinum Award Winner for best integrated perimeter protection system by Government Security News.

On-site ISS demonstrations are planned during Border Security Expo 2014 at Telephonics’ exhibit #701. To learn more about ISS and other Telephonics technologies, please contact Lisa Ahrens or visit www.telephonics.com.
