  • Telephonics Corporation upgrades and expands their Aerotrac system at the Xian Xianyang airport

  • Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), announced today that it has successfully upgraded and expanded the Xian AeroTrac® system to support the new tower and parallel runway operation at Xian Xianyang airport in Northwest China. This upgrade has allowed Xian to become the ninth busiest airport in China and the first in Northwest China to feature parallel runway operations, greatly improving flow efficiency, capacity, and safety. “This allows the airport to host aircraft such as A380 and to increase airport capacity to 50 million passengers per year. Telephonics’ AeroTrac system has been an effective solution to support this growth and is being highly appreciated by the customer,” according to officials of Northwest China Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
