  • Telephonics Corporation appoints Michael F. Canders as the new President of its Communication Systems Division

  • Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), announces the appointment of Mr. Michael F. Canders as President of its Communication Systems Division (CSD). Mike will return to Telephonics to resume his outstanding career in the aerospace industry after a successful eight and a half year tour in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard, where he achieved the rank of Full Colonel. During his recent distinguished military career as Wing Commander for the 106th Rescue Wing at Gabreski Airport, Westhampton, NY and concluding with his last assignment as the U.S. Air Force Commander, Sather Air Base, 447th Air Expeditionary Group, Baghdad, Iraq, Mike has proven to have the leadership qualities to effectively manage large organizations.

    Mike’s previous Telephonics experience, which extended over 13 very successful years, along with his illustrious and more recent military career, has laid a solid foundation for him to lead and grow CSD. “We are very excited to welcome Mike back to Telephonics. I believe that in his new role and with his leadership skills, he brings a strong team spirit in the way he will manage the Division which will in turn prove to be beneficial across the entire company” said Mr. Joseph J. Battaglia, President of Telephonics Corporation.
