Telephonics Corporation wins contract for the advanced APS-143 Radar System for Sikorsky’s S-70B Helicopter for the Republic of Singapore Navy

2/28/2006  -  Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Griffon Corporation (NYSE: GFF), announced today they have received a contract award for their APS-143 Maritime Surveillance Radar. These radar systems are for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

Variants of the high performance APS-143 radar system were also selected by the U.S. Coast Guard for the Integrated Deepwater System program earlier this year and represent the most advanced maritime surveillance radar capability available today. The multi-mode radar systems that will be delivered to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation are for installation on the Sikorsky S-70B Naval Helicopter and will be a major contributor to the enhancement of the RSN’s mission of defending Singapore. “Telephonics’ APS-143 radar will play a key role in fulfilling the demanding maritime search & rescue and surveillance mission requirements for the Singaporean Navy” said Mr. Kevin McSweeney, President of Telephonics’ Command Systems Division.

Work on this program will be performed at the Telephonics facilities in Farmingdale, New York.
