Telephonics Completes Mobile Surveillance System Upgrades for U.S. Customs and Border Protection

4/27/2009  -  Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF) recently announced that it had completed upgrades to thirty Mobile Surveillance System (MSS) platforms as part of the companys contract with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The initial contract was awarded in December 2007, followed by a second contract for an additional four platforms to be delivered later this year. The current upgrades incorporate system enhancements developed from the experience gained during field use and consist of mechanical, electrical and software improvements for even greater reliability, better performance and simplified human/machine interface

Telephonics Electronic Systems Division is a world leader in integrated security systems and products for the Homeland Security and Anti-Terrorism Force Protection markets providing superior technology and state-of-the-art hardware and software designs. The Mobile Surveillance System combines the Telephonics ARSS Ground Surveillance Radar with day and night cameras, laser range finder and laser pointer to provide a fused surveillance picture for the border patrol agents operating the system.
